Heys International Ltd. is a multinational manufacturer and distributor of travel products ranging from luggage, business cases, backpacks and travel accessories. Heys International Ltd. was founded in 1986 in the suburbs of Toronto, Canada as a family business, and is still a privately owned company. Heys International is known for its fashionable, lightweight, colorful luggage made from a polycarbonate composite. A few years before baggage fees were first introduced, Heys created the xCase, a very light weight carry-on. Heys International is also well known for its advertising across Canada on billboards, magazines, bus shelters, subways, and Bus wraps. == Milestones == In 2003, Heys introduced the xCase, which claimed to be the world's lightest hard side carry-on luggage at the time. In 2005, the xcase XL was added which was also, at the time claimed to be the world's lightest 3 piece hardside luggage set. In 2008 Heys Introduced the xScale, a Small Portable Luggage Scale. This allows travelers to weigh their luggage on the go. In 2008 Heys first eco-friendly luggage, the EcoCase was introduced. The EcoCase is made from 100% post-industrial recycled plastic. This was an environmental initiative launched by Heys in their product line which led to the development of eco-friendly travel accessories made with Ecotex. Ecotex is a textile made from 100% recycled water bottles and is used to make travel accessories such as shoe bags, toiletry bags and packing cubes. Also in 2008 Heys established a partnership with Disney〔 and introduced kids backpacks, luggage & travel accessories. Heys/Disney products are being distributed through Canada's largest retailers. In 2009 Heys relocated its head office to a new facility in Mississauga, ON Canada. Also this year Heys introduced their Elite product line, which is fabricated of German made pure PC. In 2010 a licensing agreement was signed with National Geographic, and the Journey luggage collection was launched in 2011. The Heys Journey collection features National Geographic's world map printed on the entire body, forming the globe.〔 In 2011 Heys became the official luggage for Porter Airlines.
